Disneyland MaxPass FAQ

First things first - download the Disneyland mobile app. It’s easiest for a group if you just have one login/password.  Everyone can have it on their phone but make one person responsible for making changes.

Link ALL park tickets in the app to be able to make FastPasses for all in your party.  The app will walk you through this (Just open the app, click My Tickets and click the + at the top. Click Link Tickets & Passes and center the barcode on the screen) - just be sure to name the tickets with each guest’s name.

You can’t obtain any FastPasses until you have entered one of the theme parks each day.  And everyone in your party that you want FastPasses for must also have entered the park.

Once you’ve entered the park that day you can make FastPass reservations all day whether or not you’re still in the park.  So if you leave for lunch, you can still look for a FastPass for later if you don’t already have one.

To make a FastPass reservation, Open the app and click + at the bottom of the home screen. Select Get FASTPASS with Disney MaxPass. Under Create a FASTPASS Party, it will automatically select all tickets linked to the account. Deselect any guests who do not wish to get a FASTPASS for that ride. Continue and select the park. Scroll through the selection of attractions and choose a ride and return time that works for you. Follow the prompts and confirm.

Technically you’re supposed to only have one FastPass reservation at a time but it all depends on a variable waiting time until you can obtain a new FastPass.  You’ll see in the app when you’re eligible to get another one.  Pay attention to that and you can often have more than one at a time.

Also, shows (Fantasmic! and World of Color) are eligible to book at any point without keeping you from getting other FastPasses.  So grab those early in the day!

When you arrive at the attraction, go to the FastPass line and you’ll scan your park ticket or the bar code from the Disneyland app at the FASTPASS return point. As soon as you scan your FastPass at a ride, you can immediately reserve the next ride while you wait in line for your current ride.
